Meetings
A series of meetings was held in March 2007, November 2007 and March 2008 to develop the Coordinated Public Transit – Human Services Transportation Plan for the Hampton Roads area. Many agencies and individuals participated, and responded to our online survey. The Hampton Roads Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads endorsed the final plan during April, 2008.
Based on our previous discussions and the results of the survey, federal guidelines for the Coordinated Plan require that it include:
• an assessment of existing services, providers, and users
• an assessment of current gaps and needs, as well as areas of duplication
• strategies and/or activities to address gaps and achieve efficiencies; and
• criteria and relative priorities for implementation.
